Colin is a solo entertainer with more than 10 years’ experience singing in social clubs, restaurants and for weddings and other special occasions in his home country, Wales, and in New Zealand. He has performed in more than 100 different venues outside Australia, and has held several residencies. Now that he is an Australian resident, residing in the North Lakes area just north of Brisbane, he has recently rekindled his ability and passion for singing and has begun to take bookings in the Brisbane area and Sunshine Coast.

Colin uses the stage name of The Ballad Singer, although he sings a much greater variety of genre than the title implies. He is extremely versatile and, as well as ballads (he has a passion for ballads from the 50s and 60s in particular), has an extensive repertoire which includes country, dance, doo wop, funk, gospel, Latin, morning melodies, reggae, rock ‘n’ roll, soul, swing, and waltzes.

Colin is skilled at reading an audience and at adjusting his sets as necessary, to keep them engaged and to ensure they have the best time possible. He can customise his performance to suit the most intimate setting or party sing-a-long – whatever is preferred or required. He encourages audience participation and will happily share the microphone with anyone who wants to give it a go.

Colin’s backing tracks are all first class live instrumentations, not synthesised. Many have a ‘twist’ which allows him to put his own stamp on a song. He uses only top quality sound equipment and can also use a backdrop and lighting for effect.
