Kristen Virag has captivated audiences with her sweet, but soulful and powerful voice since she was 10 years old. She is able to perform at an exceptional standard in a wide range of genres including Pop, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock and Musical theatre. Kristen has performed at many events small and large, including corporate events, weddings, private functions as well as many restaurants and bars around Melbourne. She is able to interact with a crowd and entertain large groups of people. She successfully completed a Bachelor of Applied Music in Performance, and has collaborated with many different artists. She has sung in large group Motown bands, Rock bands, as a backing vocalists and well as performing her own original material as a solo artist. Kristen is also a talented songwriter and has released a solo EP entitled "Music Never Die". As well as being a confident performer, Kristen is a motivational, fun and approachable vocal teacher specializing in the Estill vocal technique sharing her knowledge with students of all ages.
Nick Hermanus is an accomplished young guitarist from Melbourne. Nick obtained his Bachelor of Applied Music in Performance at Box Hill Institute. While at the school, he honed his skills in performance, songwriting and singing and excelled in guitar playing, winning the Guitar ‘Excellence in Performance’ award for 2009. Nick’s people skills make him popular with students he teaches and also with his fellow musicians. He has excellent music performance skills as a soloist, accompanist and band member. He is currently a member of several working bands and plays a wide variety of styles including Jazz, Blues, Soul, Funk, African Jazz, and Hip Hop. He performs regularly around popular public venues in Melbourne, and events such as The International Flower Show, The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and Winter Warmers live at RRR studios. In 2012 he also toured nationally with The Royal Jellies, supporting Clare Bowditch.
Angel Wong is a classically-trained pianist and keyboardist with over 15 years of combined teaching and public performance experience. Upon successfully achieving a Bachelor of Applied Music in Composition, she has not only diversified her music career with a wider performance repertoire including Pop and Jazz, she has also composed for ensemble, scored short films and arranged music. Most recently, she was arranger for the song ‘December Skies’ by singer/songwriter Jimmy Fong in the Malaysian national AmBank Cipta-Lagu finals, solo pianist for Australian Labour government Women Association event, as well as keyboardist and band director for the internationally televised 2012 TVBJ annual singing competition with an audience of 2,000 people.
Richard Jones is an experienced drummer, with 6 years of performance experience with “4tress”, a band specialising in 50's/60's Rock 'n' Roll & 90's Grunge originals and covers. After gaining the senior school music award in high school, Richard went on to pursue his music degree in Performance at Box Hill Institute. Over years of professional training, Richard has expanded his repertoire and played in various styles such as Pop, Acoustic, Jazz, Soul and Heavy Metal. He has performed in many bands, including the "The Twillighters" and "The Blakk Buss". One of his most recent public achievements was as band drummer for the internationally televised 2012 TVBJ annual singing competition with an audience of 2,000 people.
Ryan Szeto is an experienced professional bass player and audio engineer. Ryan is a full-time audio engineer at a local Church, which he has been involved with varying technical audio-visual capacities since 2002. Ryan has arranged and produced 4 music albums and directed several drama productions. He is also a performer, playing for weddings, public events and recitals. One of his most recent public achievements was as a bassist for the nationally televised 2012 TVBJ annual singing competition with an audience of 2,000 people. Ryan will complete a Bachelor of Music in Audio Engineering at Box Hill Institute this year(2013).
